Punta Cana Excursions.
Punta Cana, rated the #1 vacation spot in the Caribbean by several different travel groups, is very popular in the winter months of January and February for Americans and Canadians. You can check out this site on Punta Cana and follow the links to the tours and excursions that are posted on the page. The resort tours are just so crowded and so generic they are down right boring. The tours you take with the independent tour operators who specialize in these tours every day and know exactly where to go and what to show you and what will be most interesting will be far more memorable than those generic tours you take with the resorts. This makes it a really popular snorkeling and scuba diving area.
One of the best deals I ever got! I recently went on a Bayahibe excursion booked through one of the popular tour operators in the area. They hooked me up with an all inclusive Bayahibe excursion package which included the resort (wow!) and several day trips out into the area. It also include the boat ride I took out to Catalinta Island which is part of the "Dream Islands" which I can truthfully say they earned their name. The 3rd morning we were there, we had walked for about an hour when we rounded a curve and found this beautiful secluded cove. There wasn't another soul in sight so we had this beautiful place all to ourselves. You want to work with a company that can customize the trip around what you prefer but can also make good suggestions on things you may not have thought of. My heart was racing so fast I didn't know if I could do it but I have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. What a beautiful view! We think next time we want to go on a winter expedition which is tropical there of course and do more in the way of wildlife viewing, especially the Humpbacks which we heard from the guides there is really something to see.
