Information on A vacation to the Dominican Republic.
Santo Domingo is a radiant town in the Dominican Republic. Radiant and fashionable, in contrast with the traditional countryside. New and old are joined to an amazing mixture here. The Zone Colonial has an European exuberance and houses quite a few historical buildings dating back to the time of the initial colonizers. The Dominican traditions is a mixture between the new and old world. It is shown in the traditional music: the Bachata and Merengue. Latin influences blend with the traditional Spanish customs. Dominicans love their heritage and culture. The culture is a mixture of Spanish, Taino and African influences. Santo Domingo has long been the most important city in the Americas. From here the Spaniards plotted their further expansion into the new world. In the Zone Colonial it is possible to follow Columbus' footsteps into the new world.
If it is turquoise waters and opulent accommodations you would like, then you have found it. Most tourism is concentrated in Bavaro / Punta Cana: with 75 kilometer of gorgeous beaches and high class hotels. Feel like in nirvana! The all inclusive hotels deliver everything for the distinct visitor. We generally enjoy the beach and take an excursion one or two times during our visit. Read the websites to determine what to do after arrival.
We have gone on a trip around the entire country and we have spend our final night in Boca Chica, the beach area for individuals living in Santo Domingo. We flew back from Las Americas, the international airport near Santo Domingo, in the morning. We did have a lot of fun in the Caribbean. We saw a lot of this phenomenal country and we will come back quickly for more.
