It's obvious that in most cases our fashion sense comes from outside sources. The fashion industry itself, television, film stars, singers, sports figures, possibly even family members; the list is endless. Yet exactly what is fashion? I prefer to think about it as comfort wear but sadly that isn't generally the case.

If you have ever before worn 5" stilettos you know exactly what I'm talking about. In a perfect world there is absolutely nothing more comfy than an old pair of sneakers and sweats, mine right now have no fewer than 12 holes (I cannot bring myself to throw them away). Unfortunately walking in to a bank dressed this way puts everyone on guard, I think I even saw one of the bank employees push the button! Therefore rather than being comfortable we decide on clothing that are way too tight, too short, too long, simply wrong!

As a culture we are set as to what we look at is pretty, this goes for clothes as well as the individual (that's a whole different subject). With this particular thought in mind, is the average lady set up to fail? Let's look at it this way; as far as I can see there's nothing even more attractive than a 6 foot 2 inches rail thin model walking down a stretch of carpet in clothes that you or I would certainly never be caught dead in. OK, strike one; I simply fell short. While the lady is attractive, the designs are extraordinary, these are not your average women. I have yet to see a lady in aisle six of my grocery store wearing a glittering gold gown with wings. If I had I would quickly call up my neurologist to schedule an MRI!

Women's fashions include colors, fabrics, approach, and swag. Yes, I said it! Fabulous designers around the world tantalize our senses every single season with vibrant and inspiring designs, it is through these masterpieces that our imagination is set free to be whoever we wish to be. Totally free to explore our own inner self and allow that inner self to shine through. So, even though we are influenced by the world around us fashion originates from within. Only you can state what suits you the best, in your fashion as well as in your life. Marvel in whatever the world has to offer in the type of style but choose for yourself and not what community demands. As an individual fashion is definitely the real you, how you feel, what's right for you. I suppose you could call it "YOU FASHION".
